I recently did the fashion styling for Metro Detroit music artist, Katie Lee. Her house, built in the 1930's and fortunate to have a lot of natural light, was our photo shoot location. We had a fresh blanket of snow here in Michigan and although I strongly dislike the cold, I must admit that snow can be very pretty!
Katie is former front-woman for folk band, The Appleseed Collective, and is starting a solo career in New York City. With her new music direction, Katie wanted a sophisticated look for her promo photos. Heather Nash of HMN Photography was inspired by film noir, and Katie and I met prior to the shoot, discussed the look she wanted with wardrobe, and how we could match it with Heather's overall vision.
On this shoot I got the chance to work with the very talented Sonya of Wink Beauty and Lash Studio in Royal Oak who did makeup and hair on location. Naree of Northern Bloom provided the topiary arrangements yet again! While you're at it, check out Katie Lee's website here and take a listen!
