Over Labor Day weekend I had the privilege of styling a bridal themed photo shoot in collaboration with Ann Arbor based photographer, the very talented Heather Nash of HMN Photography , creative floral designer Naree Nong Snodgrass of Northern Bloom, and Justine Ciaravino, who models for the University of Michigan's student fashion publication, SHEI Magazine , and local student photographers such as Dan Chern . The setting was truly what wedding day dreams are made of. The Grosse Pointe War Memorial set on Lake Saint Claire in Grosse Pointe Farms made the perfect backdrop, and the weather couldn't have been better for a photo shoot; sunny with just the perfect amount of overcast.
In preparation for the photo shoot, we were going for a theme slightly reminiscent of the Edwardian Era. Naree created fruit bowls and a bouquet based on "the language of flowers", a popular way to convey sentiment during that time. For wardrobe I chose an elegant sheath style lace St. Patrick of Barcelona dress. The dress was complimented by a simple single layer chapel length ivory tulle veil and a vintage heirloom bracelet of my own.
*Special credit goes to The Brides Project of Ann Arbor, Michigan who allowed me to borrow the dress and veil for this shoot (which I happened to sell to a lovely bride just a couple weeks ago!)
